Who’s the better VP to be?

November 3rd, 2008 by rflynn

I just want to know….who has been a better running mate during the campaign, and who will be a better VP for their President if elected? Senator Biden or Governor Palin?

Abortions

November 3rd, 2008 by cogilvielaing

I decided to write about how abortions should be legal. If some one, god forbid, to be incestuously raped, then the should be entitled to having an abortion. Incest generally produces mutations or abnormality, and for a child to have to be born into that situation, regardless of it’s state would be just plain wrong. Some people live in a state that would not allow for them to properly care for a child, whether it is financial or some other reason. People should have a choice, and for those who say that it is murder, what is life exactly? Is it when the brain begins processing, because that has not started while the fetus is in the womb. A fetus is not a conscious being. I do not agree with the Supreme Court in the case Roe vs. Wade, it is not does not violate a right to privacy. One last thing if you say that they should use condoms, Palin is not for teaching how to use them.

Foreign Policy of Both Candidates

November 3rd, 2008 by abuilder

Regarding Iraq, Obama wants to pull troops out of Iraq immediately, which I don’t have to explain why it is bad. Though John McCain said that he would stay in Iraq for 100 years IF NECESSARY,  he did not say he would stay for 100 years, he said that he would stay for however long it took for us to win the war. The only reason we haven’t won the war yet, is because Bush is a coward  and he has so many strict rules for engagement.Under John McCain’s rule, the war should only take another 6 months before we start to get out.Regarding Iran, Obama wants to sit and talk with Iran’s president. Might I add that Iran’s president said that he wants to wipe Israel off the face of the planet along with all of its allies (that’s us). Clearly he doesn’t want to talk and make peace with us. On the other hand McCain backs Israel on the issue that Iran is a threat and we will support Israel in taking any precautions to ensure the safety of the Israelis from nuclear missiles, which Iran has. Clearly, I don’t think Obama’s foreign policy comes anywhere close to McCain’s.

John McCain’s Policy in Iraq

November 3rd, 2008 by rfortin

One of John McCain’s major issues on foreign policies are his policies on Iraq. He believes that it is important to win in Iraq. He understands that the US needs to stabilize the government there, defeat Al Qaeda, and get what needs to be done there before we get involved in a more costlier war. He believes that we need all the support we can get to insert a democratic government and get the job done to bring our troops home. The whole and success of the troop surge in 2006-07 by Gen. Petraeus would be a waste if Obama was elected president and would bring home troops while not getting anything done. John McCain stresses that victory in Iraq is a reality.                                                                    Part of stability in the Iraqi government includes more jobs in the security services (mainly fighting terrorists). McCain believes in holding more elections. He will get Iraq’s economy going by suggesting to improve the basic services there, and opening up  jobs in stocks, entrepreneurship, and other areas.                                                                   John McCain vows to update the US citizens on progress in Iraq. He knows it will be a fight, but we can win this and get our troops home as soon as the job is done.  This is one of John McCain’s strongest issues.

Is Barack Obama’s Economic Policy Correct? You Be the Judge

November 3rd, 2008 by jklebanow

Throughout his long campaign, Barack Obama has pleaded to tax those who make more than $250,000 a year. Yet, is this the right move? Many conservatives believe that taxing the rich will result in fewer jobs and further hurt the economy. If corporate companies lose spending due to high taxes, they will be unable to use that money towards employment. Today, large businesses are constantly cutting staff because they can’t afford to keep them there.                                                                      Nevertheless, this economic policy will give a tax break on the poor. It will give middle and lower class more money to spend on healthcare, food, mortgages, and daily life needs. You be the judge.  Will his plan force businesses to raise the unemployment rate, or will it give those in need an opportunity to form a better credit? He will soon find out.

Senator Barack Obama’s Foreign Policy

November 3rd, 2008 by rflynn

The three key aspects that Senator Obama has an edge on Senator McCain in foreign policy are Iraq, Iran, and diplomacy. In Iraq, Senator Obama will pull out our troops by the summer of 2010, leaving a couple of residual forces behind. Also, he will authorize the Iraq Study Group Report, which will monitor Iraq’s boarders and the actions the new Iaqi government take. What we have been doing over the last six years hasn’t been working and Senator McCain’s plan will fail. We haven’t comleted any of our goals in Iraq and enough is enough. On the subject of Iran, Senator McCain’s plan is to ignore Iran’s leaders for the defense of Israel. How does it make sense that by shutting out Iran, we are helping Israel. Senator Obama will talk to Iran’s leaders and hear their issues and ideas and if they are unaccpetable, he will move on from there. Finally Senator McCain’s plan for diplomacy is very weak. He will not talk to any of our enemies in the Middle East and is shutting Russia out. Senator Obama will spread diplomacy where we need it most and build up our relations with Russia so an incident like Georgia will never happen again. The overall viewpoint on this election was that Senator McCain had an edge on Senator Obama in foreign policy. With the addtion of Senator Biden, it is actually the other way around.

Polls

November 3rd, 2008 by kjohnson

Although Obama has kept a steady lead in the election polls, Mccain’s voters seem to be hanging strong. Lately, there has been a slight rise on Mccains part. The independent voters have started voting for Mccain and the polls show it. Several national polls show that Obama is winning 50% of the votes v. Mccains 44% and 6% independent. Other polls claim Mccain is only three points behind! This election was expected to favor Obama greatly, but this election will be anything but unanimous. Obama voters seem to feel so comfortable with Obama’s lead that they are forgeting to vote. “Obama is winning so by so much i don’t need to vote” says an anonymous voter in Middletown, Ny. People seem to feel that there vote won’t count anymore, and that Obama will win without a doubt. Mccains power and intelligence are starting to pull the undecided voters for him. No one knows how the election will turn out, but if the increase in the polls continue for Mccain there will be a large amount of angry Obama supporters.

Foreign Policy

November 3rd, 2008 by jpelz

Joe Biden and Barack Obama want to secure America from harm and terror. They are attempting to do many things about it. If Obama gets into office, he will try to make the world a better place. On the other hand, McCain also has plenty of good ideas. Some people would disagree with Obama and some would disagree with McCain.Barack Obama and Joe Biden want to accomplish many things on the topic of foreign policy. Obama says that once he is in office, he will remove the troops from Iraq and attempt to end the war. On the otehr hand, McCain thinks it’s right to not withdraw the troops from Iraq. McCain thinks by leaving troops in Ira, it would make America a safer place.Another issue Biden and Obama discuss is the topic of nuclear weapons. Obama thinks that if there are nuclear weapons, there could be a terrorist attack invloving nuclear weapons. So what he want to do is make a ban on the production of nuclear weapons.Another big problem in the U. S. is the economy. Both McCain and Obama want to lower people’s taxes. They want to make taxes fair. If one family has less money than another family, they won’t tax the poorer family as much. This way, the poorer family can still live. Both Obama and McCain have great achievements. Many people think however, Obama has better achievements then McCain, and vice versa. They would both be good for office, but Obama might have a bigger edge then McCain.

Election Polling

The key battleground states include: FL, PA, OH, NV, MI, NH, CO, OR, NJ, WA, IA, WI, MN, TN, VA, MO, NM, AK, CT, GA, NC, ND, SD, and TX.

Although it seems that Obama is leading, McCain still has a very good chance to win.  We shall soon find out who the next president of the United States wil be.

The Recession And The Election

November 3rd, 2008 by mmarani

The Recession and the Election

Right now there is a global recession, the main factor of this problem was the free market which the Republican part has supported. But once the housing bubble popped the crisis began. Do you know who has supported this free market that let Wall Street go wild it was John Mcain.

How can you expect a man that says the middle class is anyone that has less then 5 million dollars know how to help the middle and lower class. Barack Obama is already known for caring about these classes, many may say his taxes hurt these classes, but well lets face it anyone making 250k a year isn’t exactly hurting.

I respect John Mcain but i think we need a president who cares more about the middle class. although his policies will help 10% of the country….well i think the 90% matters more.

Do you want another president who has given major tax cuts to the rich and to oil companies? I don’t think so look where that has gotten America. Barack Obama 2008 A Change We Can Believe In to learn more about this go to http://www.barackobama.com/index.php.
