Spoon is an Indie rock band that started in Austin, Texas. They formed in 1994 and are still going. Their most recent show in NY was on the 20th at the Roseland ballroom, It was sold out. The singer/lead guitarist is named Britt Daniel. The band’s Last album, GaGaGaGaGa made number 10 on the Billboard 200. When the Album before it, Gimme Fiction, made number 44.
The name Spoon was chosen to honor the 1970s German avant-garde band Can whose hit song “Spoon” was the theme song to the movie Das Messer.
