Earlier this morning, a suicide bomber on a bicycle detonated his explosives near a police base in Northern Baghdad. The bomber entered the police base  in the violent Diyala province, and blew up himself and 28 rapid reaction police force members.

A shopkeeper, Ali Shahine, had tragically seen the bike bomber a moment before hand, and then a few seconds after he disappeared,  she heard a massive explosion. She stated seeing “many bodies covered in blood. Some were dying, some had arms and legs blown off.”

A woman and child were also wounded.

Iraqi officials believe al-Qaeda to be the source of the attack. The police base is in the  city of Baquba, the capital of the Diyala province.

I, as well as many others, think that this attack was just to show that despite the recent rebellions against al-Qaeda, al-Qaeda groups are fully determined to carry out  attacks.
