The New York Knicks have been the most exciting team in basketball since the NBAs beginning. Their determination and grit resembles the way basketball is supposed to be played. The Knicks are viewed as the “darkhorse” team of the NBA this year, surprising teams in the NBA and making the playoffs. Knicks fans deserve a winning season and a playoff series since the Knicks haven’t made the playoffs since the 02-03 season. The Knicks not only have 2 NBA championships, but 8 conference finals and 8 division titles. Although the pessimistic NBA senior writers for ESPN, Marc Stein, Chris Sheridan, and J.A Adande, view the Knicks as too defensivey-inept to make the playoffs, fox sports rank the Knicks number 11 in their preseason power rankings. Let’s face it, the Knicks are beasts and they will bring a championship to New York City within 5 years. With the formidable tandem of Zach Randoph (21.6 ppg and 10.1 rpg last year,) and Eddy Curry (19.5 ppg and 7.1 rpg last year) let alone the proven star Stephon Marbury, “Mr. Clutch” Jamal Crawford, and “The three-point Specialist,” Quentin Richardson. You hear that Boston? Formidable! Do you even know what that word means?
The Knicks are 4-2 in the preseason, beating the Philadelphia 76ers twice and pulling in an impressive victory over the much acclaimed Boston Celtics. They’re once suspect defense is now looking like what Isiah Thomas envisioned for the team when he first took over as the head coach after a brief but tumultous Larry Brown reign. Nate Robinson, the 5″9 guard out of Washington, is showing that three’s the charm in his third NBA season with his spectacular summer league play, winning the MVP award and racking in 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists against the Celtics.

Recently, the Knicks defeated the 76ers 103-90. Nate Robinson continued his spectacular play with 20 points and Zach Randolph added 16 points and 4 assists. And Fred Jones added 16 points, going 2-2 from the 3-point line and 4-4 from the free throw line.

All this talk about Zach and Eddy, Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony are both horrible on defense and the Nuggets gave up 102 ppg last year (more than NYK) but still managed to win 45 games and make the playoffs in the West….
