Barack Obama has a lot of deciding to do for his new job. One of those dissensions is who should be on his cabinet. There are certain people Like Rob Emanual which have confirmed that he will be the chief of staff, and Warren buffet who may be the treasury secretary. Alot of thought must be put into this so Obama has some more time.

November 5th, 2008 by ddunnBarrack Obama has a much more extensive foreign policy for taking care of afghanistan. Barrack Obama’s foreign policy starts in afghanistan, in which he will refocus efforts and will succeed with at least two U.S. combat brigades going in there to train the afghan army while John McCain is going along with Bush’s lead in Iraq and says he will “muddle through Afghanistan” Barrack Obama Obama’s foreign policy for Iraq is to oppose this war from the beginning. As president, he will end the war responsibly and put pressure on the Iraqi to work toward real political accommodation. To take care or iran, Obama will engage in aggressive, yet controlled diplomacy that will abandon Iran’s nuclear program

Who is Barack Obama?
November 5th, 2008 by bvalentinBrandon Valentin III-P 11/4/08
Who is Barack Obama? Barack Obama is the presidential nominee for the Democratic Party. He was born on August fourth, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His father, Barack Obama senior was an African-American, born in 1936 in the Alego, Siaya district in Kenya and his mother, Ann Dunham, was a Caucasian woman, born on November 29, 1941 in Witchita, Kansas. His parents first met during his mother’s college trip in Hawaii during Junior and Senior years at college. As she continued to stay for academic purposes, she got to know Obama senior more and more and began to enjoy spending time with him. As a result in 1960, they were married and soon after in 1961, Barack junior came into the world. In 1963 they quickly divorced leaving Obama junior at age 2. Not knowing his father too well, it did not have a great impact on him. Soon after their divorce his mother married an Indonesian oil manager. Following their marriage came the political unrest in Indonesia, forcing them to leave to Jakarta, away from all the political strife, and where Obama’s half sister would be born. Even in school he had a tough time. While attending the school of Punahou, his mother and step-father had divorced, as result forcing Obama’s family to suffer through struggles, dealing mainly with their financial status. This pushed Obama to study harder and would be on scholarship from fifth grade to his last year of high-school. In school Obama was one of the few African-Americans on campus, but since his mother couldn’t always take care of him properly because of the little amount of income she received working, many times he stayed at his grandparents house. After leaving high-school, he attended Occidental college in Los Angeles from 1979 go 1985. After finishing Occidental, he went to Colombia University and studied as a civil rights attorney. During his time there he became the first African-American to be a president of the Harvard Law Review. Later taught constitutional law at the, “University of Chicago Law School from 1997-2004. After an failed attempt to gain a seat in the US House of Representatives, he announced his campaign for the position of a US senator in January of 2003. He was chosen as an Illinois senator in July 2004 with seventy percent of the votes.
Barack Obama is now the current president of the United States. The next four years will be tough for president Obama because so many men and women of all classes are depending on him to lead us out of these dark days.
McCain and Obama’s policies
November 5th, 2008 by pconnorMcCain if elected plans to reduce taxes and provide jobs. Obama wants to spread the wealth across the middle and lower class, by raising taxes on the upper class. Obama’s policy has an error in it because the upper class provides most money to small business. So if taxes are raised on the upper class they will have less money to spend and the small business wont make as much money. McCain will lower taxes which will let business hire more people because they will have more money to spend.
Health care is a big topic these days because it is so hard to get. McCain will make health care easy to find and much more affordable. Obama on the other hand wants health care to be run by the government. He also will damage private coverage and hurt employer health care. This is bad because less business will be able to provide health care for their employees.
Barack Obama-The 44th President of the United States of America
November 5th, 2008 by rflynnTonight, Senator Barack Obama has earned himself a new title, President-Elect Barack Obama. This was an extremely hard campaign for both candidates and Senator John McCain ran a historic campaign, however, change pervailed. Red states converted to Blue, like Virginia, Ohio, Florida, Iowa, potentially Indiana and North Carolina (I can’t stay up that late), and even the regular red states that McCain carried, Obama came close. As I was watching the coverage of the election tonight, I think what Senator McCain said during his final speech was absolutley great. We as Americans, Democrats and Republicans, need to help our President-Elect to suceed, for our great nation can not afford another term of failure. We must remember that a house divided cannot stand, as President Lincoln once said. It is also so great to see how far our nation has come from the black holes of slavery and segregation, to the majority of our citizens vote for a man from black descent for the presidency. This is a day of great pride for our nation. We must keep in mind, however, that the Obama supporters cannot get too high from victory and the McCain supporters cannot sulk about their loss. We need to heal our nation’s wounds and we need to do it now. Personally, I am very proud that the American people voted for change, and I hope people will comment on this post. May God Bless America and may we have a very sucessful next four years.
McCain: On Nuclear Energy
November 4th, 2008 by rfortinIn this time of climate change, McCain understands that US must take action. He knows that we cannot jump into a green house gas free world right away. He believes in green advances only in scientifically safe areas of advancing technology. He also says that these advances for the environment should not cost too much, but be effective. He believes climate policy must spur the development and deployment of advanced technology. These efforts must be international. That is his basic policy on climate change. John McCain strongly believes in Nuclear Energy. He thinks that it is “part of the equation” for a strong and environmental country. France is 80% run by nuclear power. While some may cringe at the thought of a nation with nuclear energy, the US already has many and they are now safer than ever before. Nuclear power may be the key to a green country.
John McCain’s Tax Policy
November 4th, 2008 by hmesserThe highest tax rate will be at 35% if John McCain is president. Entrepreneurs will not be taxed into submission. This would create ultimate job security, better opportunities if you lose your current job, and could innovate America’s economy for the growth of Entrepreneur’s small businesses. McCain plans to continue the 15 % rates on capital gains and dividends. Also, McCain realizes that raising taxes on small businesses, which are the heart of job growth, can affect every worker. This basically says that McCain plans to keep tax rates low. Also, McCain plans to cut the corporate tax from 35% to 25%. This also would keep good jobs in the United States. McCain’s corporate tax cut would bring the corporate tax back to where it originally was. Due to America having the second highest tax rate, it makes it a much less attractive place to trade. Also, John McCain plans to simplify the tax code by rewarding trade activity in the U.S. He plans to allow first-year deductions with employers who have made a purchase of some type of equipment or technology. Then, he also plans to create a permanent tax credit equal to 10% of payments spent on research and development. This will make us a better competitor with other countries, and remove uncertainty. This will help businesses be less reluctant and unsure to make an investment in research and development. John McCain plans on banning internet taxes, which will make America a “engine of economic growth and prosperity. Lastly, McCain plans to prohibit cell phone taxes. John McCain seems to be a much more fit candidate in bringing our economy back to where it originally was. (http://www.johnmccain.com/Issues/JobsforAmerica/taxes.htm)

young people’s attitude to obama
November 4th, 2008 by idialloMany young Americans are favoring Obama. They want someone new to lead our country. Other college kids just think that it would be cool to have a black president. He has a lot of charisma. He also seems cool because he was an athlete in college.
